Methods for showing prices on medicines approved

07.08.2015

Other methods of showing prices unless a typographic printing of medicines on packages is possible were approved

In accordance with the "Rule regulating the prices of the registered medicines and exercising control over their prices" approved by the Decision of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan, dated June 3 2015, "Other methods of showing prices unless a typographic printing of medicines on packages is possible" were approved by the Ministry of Economy and Industry (methods are included in the data).

According to these methods, unless a typographic printing of retail prices of the medicines regulated by Tariff (Price) Council of the Republic of Azerbaijan on packages is possible, prices should be indicated either by being printed with an industrial printer, attached with a price sheet, or stamped depending on the choice.

The retail price of the medicine must be applied by the manufacturers or their authorized person before being deposited in the pharmaceutical wholesale enterprises and by its owner while the price of the medicine changed.
Pharmacy should examine the conformity of the price for the medicine received by pharmaceutical wholesale enterprises with the price approved by Tariff (Price) Council.

When the price is shown on the medicine by using these methods it should be read clearly, and should not be allowed to cover up production and expiry dates of the medicine, as well as to restrict the reading of the information on medicines by consumer visually.

"Other methods of showing prices unless a typographic printing of medicines on packages is possible" is available in the websites of the Ministry of Economy and Industry (www.economy.gov.az), the State Service for Antimonopoly Policy and Consumer Rights' Protection under the Ministry of Economy and Industry (www.consumer.gov.az), Tariff (Price) Council of the Republic of Azerbaijan (www.tariff.gov.az) and electronic database on medicines of the Ministry of Health (www.pharma.az).
